Today was travel day. Cars, cabs, planes and trollies. I have a very big thank you to Andrew P, he knows why and it certainly helped us on our way.
We usually travel Virgin but the route was not profitable so it stopped last week. BA was great, and even greater when the reason for the 2 hour delay was they were looking for a better plane as the scheduled one had something wrong they were not happy with. Always happy with that as a response.
The flight was un eventful, which is perfect and then you rush to immigration to get to the front so you can handover your now $50, €40,£30 which ever you have. Unless you are me and have a pre 2000 note which is no longer accepted.
This apparently I should know, of course in great Kenyan style another great chance for more paperwork. So, Marcus to the rescue with sterling and we are through to baggage collection next to the ever increasingly cleaner set of public loos to the right of the belt. In 3 years sanitation has slowly been introduced in the airport. It’s almost a nice experience now, I would still take the captains advice with 40 min to go in the flight and use the washrooms before the seat belt signs come on.
Taxi ride to the club was through empty motorways, only real action we saw was a van driving the wrong way down the opposite carriageway as it was quicker than going all the way to the next junction. It kinda made sense in Africa.
A pizza was ready and waiting with a double bed and mozzy net. No hyena or lion cries tonight just the sound of a distant party. We are back. Africa style with the Africa collection. 6.30 kick off tomorrow, breakfast and then onto our land cruiser which has become good ol faithful.
great O2 has already charged me £16 for 3meg. Blog will be short.
